Role Description & Organizational Context
The primary purpose of this position is to deliver comprehensive leadership and technical guidance to partners and district health authorities for polio eradication and immunization initiatives. The incumbent will act as the core technical focal point for WHO at the district level, ensuring that the objectives and strategies of the National Emergency Action Plan (NEAP) for Polio Eradication are effectively planned, monitored, and implemented.
Working under the direct supervision of the WHO Divisional PEI Officer and guided by the WHO Provincial Team Lead, the officer will collaborate closely with government entities. This includes coordinating with the District Health Management Team (DHMT), the District Commissioner, and prominent global partners such as UNICEF, NSTOP, CDC, and the Gates Foundation.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Requirements:
- Essential: A university degree in Medicine (MBBS/MD) from a recognized university, with valid registration with the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).
- Desirable: A postgraduate degree in a related field, such as Public Health or Epidemiology, is highly preferred.
Professional Experience:
- A minimum of one year of relevant professional experience in public health, disease surveillance, immunization, and/or polio eradication activities.
- Proven experience in field-level public health programs and direct community engagement.
- Strong proficiency in data management and analysis tools (e.g., MS Office, SPSS, Power BI, GIS).
