Job Responsibilities of the Senior Medical Officer (Emergency)

The selected Senior Medical Officer will be responsible for the following duties:

• Performing initial evaluation, investigation and management of emergency patients while maintaining consistently high clinical quality and service standards.
• Conducting physical examinations and vigilantly monitoring each patient’s progress.
• Performing medical procedures under supervision and communicating patient progress to the concerned Consultant, as well as to the patient and family.
• Assessing patients and completing all required paperwork and forms according to hospital protocols.
• Participating in patient management under the supervision of consultants.
• Maintaining effective documentation and quality record keeping, including clinical notes, progress notes and discharge summaries.
• Continually enhancing clinical competencies under the supervision of consultants, faculty and staff.
• Conducting bedside teaching and training and actively participating in the academic activities of the Emergency Department.
• Following infection control practices in the workplace.
• Supporting the department in administrative activities to ensure smooth service delivery in assigned areas.

Eligibility Criteria and Requirements

• MBBS degree from a recognised institution.
• At least 5 years of post-MBBS relevant experience, including one year of house job.
• A valid licence from the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC).
