The Medical Education Department of the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD), Karachi has invited applications through its online portal for 31 training positions across 11 departments, with training commencing January 2027. Positions include FCPS Postgraduate Trainees, Diploma PG Trainees, Post Fellows, Clinical Fellows and Training Registrar Medical Officers (TRMO Tier I & II) in adult cardiology, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiac imaging, cardiac emergency, critical care, paediatric cardiology, paeds cardiac ICU, cardiac surgery, paediatric and congenital cardiac surgery, and anaesthesia.

Applications are accepted only through the official NICVD PGME online portal. No courier or by-hand submissions will be accepted. A candidate can apply for one position at a time, and the portal will be inactive after the closing date – submit before Monday, 16 November 2026.

Important Notes

  • Selection will be purely on merit. Applicants can apply from all over Pakistan.
  • Only shortlisted applicants will be called for interview/test. No TA/DA is admissible.
  • Government employees must apply through proper channel and bring an NOC at the time of interview.
  • Foreign applicants must hold a valid Student Visa and a valid PMDC certificate.
  • All courses are full-time training positions; no one may work with any other organisation during the training period, except TRMO (Tier I & II).
  • An application processing fee and admission fee will be applicable.
  • Stipend will be provided as per NICVD policies.
  • Training will start from January 2027.

MBBS with house job and valid PMDC, plus FCPS-I with IMM training completed (IMM-passed candidates preferred) for Adult Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery; FCPS-I (Anaesthesia) qualified for the Anaesthesia PG trainee position.

Can I apply for a TRMO position straight after house job?

TRMO (Tier I) in Adult Cardiology requires only MBBS, house job and valid PMDC. Tier I in paediatric departments requires one year of clinical experience in Paeds Medicine; Tier II requires MD/MCPS/Diploma training or qualification in the relevant field.

Can I apply for more than one position?

A candidate can apply for only one position at a time through the online portal.
