UHS PGET Last Cycle Seats: 1,250 Postgraduate Seats Across 67 Specialities
Before you finalise your preference list for the upcoming UHS PGET / Punjab central induction, it is worth knowing how many seats were on offer last cycle. The previous advertisement, PHF/26/JUL/01, listed 1,250 postgraduate training seats in 67 specialities across five programmes: FCPS, FCPS Dentistry, MD, MDS and MS. The complete discipline-wise breakdown is given below.
Paediatrics had the largest intake in both FCPS (78) and MD (77) – together 155 seats, the single biggest speciality pool.
Medicine (FCPS 50 + MD 48) and General Surgery (FCPS 49 + MS 48) each offered close to 100 seats across the two qualification tracks.
Anaesthesia (FCPS 45 + MS 39) and Obstetrics & Gynaecology (FCPS 45 + MS 45) were the next largest pools.
Basic sciences (Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pharmacology, Microbiology) and Radiotherapy had only 2–5 seats each, so competition for individual stations in these disciplines can be unpredictable.
Dental candidates had 29 seats in total (FCPS Dentistry 19 + MDS 10), with Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery the largest at 11 combined.
Note: These figures are from the last cycle’s advertisement (PHF/26/JUL/01) and are shared for planning purposes. Seat numbers in the new cycle may change – always verify against the official UHS / Punjab induction advertisement when it is published.
