The Sindh Institute of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences (SIOVS) Hyderabad, the esteemed successor of the Liaquat University Eye Hospital, is pleased to announce that applications are officially open for its Postgraduate Ophthalmology Training programs for the upcoming July 2026 session.
SIOVS is currently accepting applications for three specialized residency tracks. Prospective candidates are encouraged to review the specific eligibility criteria for each program below.
Available Residency Programs & Eligibility Criteria
1. FCPS Orbit & Oculoplastics (2-Year Residency Program) This specialized two-year track focuses on advanced training in orbital and oculoplastic surgery.
- Eligibility Requirements:
- Candidates must hold an MBBS Degree from a recognized institution.
- Candidates must have successfully passed their FCPS in Ophthalmology.
2. FCPS (4-Year Residency Program) A comprehensive four-year residency designed to provide rigorous foundational and advanced training in ophthalmology.
- Eligibility Requirements:
- Candidates must hold an MBBS Degree from a recognized institution.
- Candidates must have successfully passed FCPS-I in Ophthalmology.
- The candidate’s training must have started within three years of clearing their FCPS-I.
3. MCPS (2-Year Residency Program) A two-year residency pathway tailored for candidates seeking Membership of the College of Physicians and Surgeons.
- Eligibility Requirements:
- Candidates must hold an MBBS Degree from a recognized institution.
- Candidates must maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.00.
- Candidates must have completed a mandatory one-year house job in a recognized medical institution.
