Eligibility Requirements

Qualifications

• Degree: MBBS with postgraduate training in General Surgery (FCPS / MS), preferably completed or in advanced stages of training.
• Registration: Valid PMDC registration.

Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years of clinical experience in General Surgery.
• Proven experience in independently managing surgical OPD, inpatient wards and surgical emergencies.
• Strong clinical decision-making skills in preoperative assessment, postoperative management and acute surgical conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, evidence-based surgical care to patients with acute and chronic surgical conditions.
• Independently manage general surgery inpatient wards and surgical emergencies.
• Conduct preoperative assessments, postoperative rounds and follow-up consultations.
• Recognise, manage and stabilise surgical emergencies, including timely escalation and referral when required.
• Lead and support junior medical officers, nursing staff and operating theatre teams in patient care.
• Ensure accurate clinical documentation, operative notes, medical records and discharge summaries.
• Coordinate closely with senior surgical consultants, anaesthesia teams and multidisciplinary departments.
• Ensure compliance with hospital surgical protocols, patient safety standards, infection prevention policies and OT procedures.
