Senior Gynecologist / Obstetrician Job at Chiniot Mother & Child Hospital, Nazimabad Karachi 2026

Chiniot Mother & Child Hospital, Nazimabad has announced a vacancy for a Senior Gynecologist / Obstetrician to lead its OB/GYN department. The hospital is looking for an experienced consultant who can drive clinical excellence in high-risk obstetric care and mentor a multidisciplinary team, including medical staff and Resident Medical Officers (RMOs).

This is a senior leadership position suited to consultants with substantial post-fellowship experience, ideally gained in a teaching tertiary care hospital, who are looking to take on departmental management alongside clinical work.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the OB/GYN department, including medical staff and Resident Medical Officers (RMOs).
• Oversee daily departmental operations, duty rosters, clinical audits, and implementation of hospital policies.
• Manage high-risk obstetric cases, gynecological emergencies, and major surgeries.
• Ensure compliance with hospital quality standards and patient safety protocols.

Qualifications and experience

• Education: FCPS, MRCOG, FRCOG, or an equivalent postgraduate qualification from a recognized institution.
• Registration: Valid PMDC registration with the relevant specialty.
• Experience: Minimum 8–10 years of post-fellowship experience, preferably in a teaching tertiary care hospital.
• Leadership: 3–5 years of experience in a leadership role is preferred.

Who should apply

The post is aimed at senior consultants in Obstetrics & Gynaecology who already hold a recognized fellowship and have spent close to a decade or more practising independently after it. Candidates who have served as Head of Department, Unit In-charge, or in a similar supervisory capacity will match the preferred leadership criterion. Recently qualified fellows are unlikely to meet the minimum post-fellowship experience requirement.
