Selection Criteria: Please note that all CVs are submitted to the Head of Department (HOD) for review. Simply applying does not automatically make a candidate eligible for the test; you must be shortlisted by the HOD first.
Communication Protocol: Shortlisted candidates will be contacted via telephone regarding the test. If you miss the phone call, an official notification will be sent to your email address.
Expedited Timeline: The recruitment process moves rapidly. The written test is typically scheduled just four days after the shortlisting notification.
Rapid Results Declaration: Test results are announced promptly, usually within one hour of the exam’s conclusion.
Interview Selection: Progression to the interview stage is likely contingent upon the marks secured in the written test. (Interviews on Same Day)
Document Submission: If you clear the interview, you will be notified via phone and email to submit scanned copies of all required documents.
Selection Confirmation: Upon submission of your documents, you will receive a formal email confirming your selection.
Medical Examination: A mandatory medical assessment will follow. This includes a comprehensive range of tests, such as a Chest X-ray, CBC (Complete Blood Count), and Hepatitis B & C screening.
BLS Requirement: Once medical clearance is obtained, you will be required to attend a Basic Life Support (BLS) session.
Commencement of Training: Formal training will begin immediately following the completion of the BLS course.
Test Pattern & Syllabus (Internal Medicine):
- Format: The exam consists of 50 MCQs to be completed in 1 hour.
- Question Style: The questions follow the FCPS pattern.
- Question Structure: Expect short, direct statements (stems), typically around two lines in length.
- Content Warning: Be prepared for Oncology-based questions. These were noted to be particularly challenging, with most candidates finding them difficult to answer.
Interview Components:
- Self-Introduction: A brief professional introduction.
- Institutional Motivation: “Why do you wish to join Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital?”
- Commitment Assurance: You will be asked to justify your commitment and provide assurance that you will not leave the program prematurely if selected.
- Academic Assessment: Technical and clinical questions related to the specialty.
- Research Portfolio: Discussion regarding any past research, publications, or audits you have conducted.
